A contagious skin inflammation primarily in children although adults are also at risk, close proximity ,broken skin and poor hygiene standards help with the spread there are two types:
- Ordinary impetigo – small pimples filled with pus which burst leaving a golden coloured crust
- Bullous impetigo – larger blisters filled with pus which burst leaving golden crusted sometimes weeping sores
