This is an abnormal growth of cancerous cells associated with the herpes virus Type 8, they appear as flat purple or brown patches on the skin. They appear more prevalent in Mediterranean countries although can appear with people who have had organ transplants due to the medication they receive. Also affected are people suffering from AIDS.
