A parasite which infests the hair on the body there are different types:
- Head lice -live on the scalp and use the hair shaft to attach their eggs to.
- Body lice-these feed on the body they live in the clothes, specifically the seams of the victim. They live on people who are unable to change their clothes often.
- Pubic lice – these live primarily in the hair around the pubic region, it is usually sexually transmitted although can be contracted by sleeping in contaminated bed linen.
