| Description: |
Inflammation of the middle ear, usually in young children due to the shortness of the eustachian tube (a small passage that connects the middle ear to the back of the throat behind the nose). This tube allows for air pressure to be equalised between the ear and the outside air and drainage if this tube becomes blocked due to a cold or allergy fluid then builds up leading to an ear infection.
