Is a form of Osteochondritis it affect mainly boys between the ages of 2 to 14, it is where the hip joint has for some reason been deprived of blood which in turn softens . The child presents with a on off limp progressing on to pain in the knee or thigh. Usually there is restricted movement with the affected hip.
