| Description: |
This is a form of abscess at the base of the spine usually in between the buttocks. The cyst usually contains hairs and it is thought that the majority of these are formed due to a hair which has not been able to grow in the normal way. This is not always the case though and some of these abscesses form without the hair. This is a very painful condition which if not resolved with antibiotics will need surgical intervention.
