| Description: |
It is the inflammation of the fluid sheath which the tendon moves through. It is a common problem that causes pain and trapping. Tendons that help bend the fingers and thumb slide through a tube like sheath. Irritation as the tendons moves through the sheath can cause the opening to become tight, or the tendon itself may become thickened so that it can't move easily. As you straighten the finger, the tendon is stuck for a split second then pops as the tendon slips past the tight area.
